Thursday morning
7:25am
B leaving for work: "Do you have a flat tire?"
D: Hmmmmmm........"NO. No I don't have a flat tire," I said, hoping to god that what he was asking was not true. I look out the window to see that I do in fact have a flat tire.
7:30am
B inspecting the damage, yells toward the half open doorway that I am standing in, "Did you hit a curb?"
Damn it. Yes I did hit a curb. I thought it was a harmless scrape.
Apparently not harmless.
7:35am
B leaves for work
8:10am to 8:20 am
Triple A: Nice, nice man in a Santa hat shows up, replaces the flat, right front tire with the spare.
8:45am to 9am
Drive to Firestone on the spare. Very strange feeling to have the car lilting to the right.
9:05am to 10:15am
Firestone: Guy repairs the bead on the tire (for free, it was under warranty!) and puts it back on while D & G "play" in the Firestone lounge/waiting area. Poor woman trying to finish her homework next to us, humors small boy by acting pleased with the constant barrage of attention.
Lessons:
1) Learn to change a tire.
2) Don't forget to renew your AAA membership. They are good people who respond quickly when you need them.
3) Keep all paperwork regarding any purchase you ever make.

Time Suck
Some would say that I have an obsession with hair. I say, "hair matters." It matters to me how my own hair looks and I notice how your hair looks when we meet or cross paths on the street.
I love subtleties in a haircut, like the forward motion/chin definition created by the cut being slightly longer in the front than the back or a slightly shorter top layer of hair that gives the cut a little lift and adds roundness to the face. I am perpetually in search of the perfect haircut or at least the next great one.
BEWARE: This website is a deadly place in terms of time suck, for those interested in hair.

Resisting
Trying to strap the toddler into his car seat, he suddenly becomes stiff as a board and launches himself onto the floor. Then, as I'm trying to reason with (bribe) him to get back into the seat, he climbs up onto the cushion next to the car seat and exclaims, "Not today Mama, not today."
Well, not exactly those words, but they might as well have been. I think we've got a sarcastic one.

Not busy enough.
Sitting here, trying to think of what to write , it occurred to me that I should just write, right. Say yes more often, just do it. These are the mantras that I am trying to live by as I feel that some of my unhappiness comes from not being busy enough.
In the last three weeks I have had a string of bad luck. In order to turn the energy around and remind the universe what I want and need, I've decided that I will be more engaged with my life, accept more challenges, get more involved. To that end, I said yes to being a part of a 2 person show in February. I've found that when I am busy and involved in projects that I am passionate about, good things tend to follow. What else can I sign myself up for?
How do you stay happily busy?
